Invoicing and payments Get paid before you've packed up the ute.

Tradies Line is invoicing software for tradies. Invoices go out from the job with a pay link, and with reminders on, the slow payers get chased for you.

No card, no time limit.

The Tradies Line jobs board for one day: eight crews and two individuals, each in their own lane, with every job from 7am to 5pm in the crew's colour

Invoicing, in short

Tradies Line is invoicing and payments software for trade businesses in Australia and New Zealand. Invoices are made from the job, carry a pay link, and mark themselves paid when your customer pays online with TradiesLine Pay or the payment's recorded in Xero. With reminders on, the unpaid ones are followed up by email, then by text and up to five short AI calls once TradiesLine Pay is connected. The texts and calls come out of your plan's allowance.

Chasing money you've already earned

  • The awkward text

Writing 'just checking in' to a customer you'd like to keep.

  • Bank statement bingo

Sunday afternoon spent matching deposits to invoices.

  • Under the power bill

No way to pay on the spot, so the invoice sits in their inbox until they get round to it.

Tap the link, pay, done

Every invoice you send carries a pay link. With TradiesLine Pay on, your customer pays by card or phone wallet, or with Afterpay or Klarna where available, and the money lands in your own account. The invoice marks itself paid, so there's nothing to match up.

  • No login for your customer, just the link
  • Without online pay, the page shows the payment details you've added in settings
  • A Payments page lists everything paid online, each linked to its invoice

AI invoicing: drafted for you, chased for you

Wombo drafts the invoice from the job with a pay link, for you to check and send. With reminders on, the unpaid ones get followed up: emails first, then texts and up to five short AI calls that text the pay link. Every reminder and how it went shows on the invoice.

  • It stops the moment the invoice is paid
  • Switch chasing off for any single invoice
  • Calls only on weekdays in business hours, and stop if the customer disputes it or says they've paid

How the chasing runs

Only when you turn reminders on. Every step is skipped once the invoice is paid.

  1. On the due date

The first email reminder, with the pay link.

  2. 3 and 7 days later

    Two more emails.

  3. 10 and 13 days later

Two texts with the pay link, once TradiesLine Pay is connected.

  4. From 16 days

A short AI call on weekdays in business hours, every three days, up to five. It texts the pay link during the call and notes what the customer says.

  5. Paid

The invoice marks itself paid and the reminders stop.

Questions about invoicing

How do I see who owes me money?

Ask Wombo "who owes me money?" and he lists your overdue invoices, or open Invoices to see what's still unpaid. Turn on reminders and the chasing happens for you, by email first and, with TradiesLine Pay connected, by text and short AI calls from your plan's allowance.

How do customers pay an invoice?

Invoices you email from Tradies Line carry a pay link. With TradiesLine Pay on, your customer pays by card, Apple Pay or Google Pay, or with Afterpay or Klarna where available, the money lands in your own account less the fees in our Terms, and the invoice marks itself paid. With Pay off, the page shows your bank details if you've added them. With Xero connected, a copy also lands there for your books.

How does invoice chasing work?

Turn reminders on and unpaid invoices get followed up for you: three emails first, then, with TradiesLine Pay connected, two texts and up to five short AI calls on weekdays that text the pay link. The texts and calls come out of your plan's allowance. It stops the moment the invoice is paid, and you can switch it off for any single invoice. Invoices synced to Xero get chased the same way, so turn off Xero's own reminders. How to chase an unpaid invoice covers what comes after, from a letter of demand to small claims.

Does it work with Xero?

Yes. With Xero connected, invoices still go out from Tradies Line with a pay link, and a copy syncs to Xero for your books. Mark it paid in Xero and it comes back marked paid here too, and we chase it like any other invoice, so turn off Xero's own reminders.

Do quotes and invoices handle GST?

Yes. They carry your ABN or NZBN and a GST line, with prices shown GST-inclusive or exclusive the way you set them. Not sure you need GST yet? See when tradies have to register.

Does Wombo send quotes and invoices on his own?

No. He drafts them and you check and send, so nothing goes to a customer or moves money until you say so. On paid plans, the one thing he sends on his own is replies to customer messages in conversations assigned to him; new conversations go to him unless you change that in Settings, and sending a message takes one over. On Free, you reply to every conversation yourself.
